| 2 | PLAN Plan to be there for the long haul. It's not an easy road but you'll never be in the right place at the right time if you give up along the way... |
| 3 | READ Try to read at least one children's book a week... |
| 4 | WRITE Every day - even if it's only ten minutes of something you delete the next day. Writing is a habit and a creative process... |
| 5 | FEEDBACK Course, assessments and mentorships. Find the right ones and they're worth every dollar... |
| 6 | WORKSHOP Join a workshop group. If you can't get to one, try on-line. If you can't find one, start one... |
| 7 | NETWORK Join writers associations and subscribe to industry journals. Must haves are Di Bates' Buzz Words and Jacki Hosking's Pass It On. Attend functions. Meet other writers... |
